I was debating picking him up with my open roster spot . . . but I thought he would be out there for a few minutes anyways . . . nice pickup Wolfboys.

Seems like a pretty even trade with a slight "edge" going to Hellfire. The Bulls first rounder should be in the later quartile of round 1 so it shouldn't be that valuable but will certainly outlive Edge if used properly. I'd rather have doucet than B. Johnson for the future.

Awful lot of noise about the 3rd string RB on the worst offense in the league, huh?

OK. What fuckin waivers process do we have here? It is retarded that the person w/ an iPhone ducktaped to their dick gets first dibs just because they check the site every .5 seconds. I know we don't have standings to help us here, but there needs to be a system for the offseason. I just saw this crap right now, which is the first opportunity I have had to check the site after work. I would have certainly liked to put in a bid for Wolfe. This kinda shit could cause major problems in the future, as players are dropped during the offseason. Let's fix it.

well i dont think he does. reason being is that I picked up wolfe...not the man with the iphone first of all. but thats besides the point (not to mention there was about 3 or 4 other owners logged on at that time)...this isnt the only league that is ran by the "first come, first serve" process of picking up players. the league I run with my friends is the same way. sometimes you get lucky and pick up someone first, sometimes people forget someones out there and your the one that remembers, sometimes in the middle of a game a player will get injured and then its a race to see who can get to their computer first to pickup that players backup.
is it a fair process to give everybody a chance with waiver priorities or w/e...in theory yes. but i think having the system as first come first serve is just as fair as well, if not even more fair than the whole waiver priority process. because in that method, the person with a low waiver priority, in this case mestifo, can put in a claim for Wolfe, and us with the 9th pick in the draft can come in the next day and just take him away. if the Generals wanted a shot at wolfe, he couldve just saved his efforts because theres no way he wouldve gotten him. in this process everybody has a chance to get him, from the Generals who had the 1st pick to the Dragons with the last. it just so happens that maybe at the time the player was dropped, your working, or I'm working or w/e the situation may be.
so if this system hasnt been a problem before with the previous pick-ups, but now it is because you were away at work and didnt get your shot at Wolfe...its a bit of a one-sided argument. which btw, in a waiver priority type league...you still wouldnt have gotten him since you drafted earlier.

Back to my earlier point, why is anyone getting worked up over a 3rd string RB on the wort offense in the league? I aagree with Wolfies, the system was always set this way, it should stay that way, kind of forces everyone to stay focused now doesn't it?

The USFL was set up on purpose with deep rosters and no waivers as a system of checks and balances . . . the deep rosters should offset the need for a waiver system because hopefully no one has a roster good enough to drop a player that everyone will be clamoring for. Unfortunately owners do make mistakes and in a competitive league like this you gotta be quick.
I think the Dragons mada a mistake dropping such a desirable player . . . Jeff Reed, Robert Royal, Leonard Pope and Kevin Faulk would have all been drop candidates for me before Wolfe . . . especially until I see how training camp goes.
And as a reminder for the future . . . once the ESPN site gets going . . . it is not the official record for FA pickups . . . the first person to post here that they are picking the player up is the official owner.
If this truly gets to be a problem we will look into changing it for the offseason.
