If it comes down to a tie breaker, what should it be?
This is to settle the bet between me and the general. There never was a tie breaker discussed for this bet.
Generals thinks it should be the same as how the playoff tie breaker is decided, based on the league rules.
I think it should be overall points scored. Since it was a bet, and since it wasn't discussed prior to now... I think the tie breaker should reflect the better team and not who had an easier time with divisional matchups. It is a testosterone filled bet after all.
What say you?

I think if it's a tie then nobody wins so everybody loses and both get their names changed

listen my lil wet back friend, if we were fighting for the 3rd and final playoff spot, and this same sceniro occured id goto the playoffs and you wouldnt, which would mean i was the better team. So why should it change. this is like the playoff waiver priority you cant change it to fit the situation its best to leave it as is :-D

this is like the playoff waiver priority you cant change it to fit the situation :-D Wouldn't you be the one who is guilty of changing things to fit the situation? Considering the tie breaker rule wasn't in place at the time the bet was made... I don't think it can apply. What are you scared of Gregg? Why shouldn't it come down to the last week of the regular season? Especially since we are playing against each other and the H2H tie breaker aspect hasn't been decided yet. If you win, then the other tie breakers don't factor in. My team has been ravaged by injuries... I don't see what the problem is. Especially since our league rules are much less "conventional" anyway. It's nothing against Brad and Chris, but a lot of the little things are done manually. Or potentially done manually.

how would i be guilty of it im just following the way that will be used to determine the draft order and playoff seeding so if i lose id lose the bet but your draft order would be better was that really a better year?

All I'm saying is this:
We could end up with the exact same overall record and H2H record... and personally, I think overall points scored is the natural tie breaker. The divisional record is Chris and Brad's idea, not mine. I didn't disagree with it because in a 12 team league it makes sense since we play each other twice. I would have given the edge to overall points scored had there been a debate, but that's just me. Personally, I will always lean toward points scored vs H2H because a team could lose 6 games as the #2 weekly scorer and finish with a losing record. There is a lot of fluke factor in fantasy football... and the schedule plays a big part in that.
In terms of who had a better year... I think points scored is the better indicator. Period.
I lost one game by 0.04 which was a divisional game and I'm about to lose my second game this year when I scored 140+... in another divisional game. I realize that we've all had a couple of weeks where we went up against someone who put up 160-180pts... but in my defense, my team didn't lay an egg in those weeks. I can't say the same for you.
I'll also have a pretty significant disadvantage in the overall points against department after this week. Not to mention a ton of lost games due to injuries. Carson Palmer, Nate Burleson and DMC were all supposed to play a big part in my season this year.
So does this mean you had a better year? Personally, I don't think so. Which is why I think next week should decide it.
Again, the tie breaker rule came into play after the bet. And when the bet was made it was all about best overall record with zero tie breaker rules discussed. Not your fault, not mine.
So let's just vote and/or play next week and then we can lay the smack down on each other.

I think if it's a tie then nobody wins so everybody loses and both get their names changed Agreed. My general rule for tiebreakers in FF is that it should always be head-to-head 1st, and total pts 2nd. It's a head-to-head game and points determine how good a team is. However, I am not voting because I don't feel like getting involved in your petty cat-fight.

Pot hasn't done anything wrong to hurt you... that I know of.
I take that back... perhaps you should blame the herb for your decision to pick on the Phish Brigade! LOL

pot hasnt dont me any badness because i can remember we had a bet! Second ive been doing some talking with people over this ill offer you this, If i win this week ill clearly have the bet won obviously. But if i lose will be even and no one will ever agree with the tie breaker, so if i lose how bout we push the bet off till next season? Because i dont see how you can get a better draft postion and still win the bet.
So let me say again if i win its over, if i lose we go threw the same shit again next year

Absolutely.
As per the initial bet, if you finish with a better record than me/you win this week... I'll eat crow, you'll have won the bet and you can change my team name to the Scott Norwood Wide Rights or whatever other cleverness you come up with.
If I win, the Phish Brigade lives!
If nothing else, I don't see how any of us could really claim any bragging rights with the same record. No tie breaker scenario was ever discussed, and even though I believe total points is the better indicator ( that's what we've always used in my money league )... a tie is a tie.
Good luck. Don't let ESPN's projections scare you!

You'll be happy to know that I had Bironas in my lineup and took him out within an hour of putting him in.
That's your first lucky bounce...
