Who would you guys keep. 6 pts for all TDs. PPR We get to franchise two guys for draft spots and transition 1 player who can be stolen. Here is the deal... I have Turner at 10, Rodgers at 12, Calvin Johnson at 1 and Whitten at 8. The franchises move 1 draft position, 1 up - 1 down, Franchise at his spot. My two thoughts. Turner up to 9, Rodgers down to 13 and whitten at 8 OR Turner up to 9 CJ down to 2 and Rodgers at 12. FYI I do NOT have my #1 pick because I was stupid. All input is welcomed. Thanks guys.

2nd idea, TE can be found later. How can the third guy be stolen, that may change things.

In the first 5 rounds you can steal someones transition player. The person stealing has to have their next pick available. If someone steals Whitten in the 3rd round I get his 4th and his 10th, he gets my 15th and 16th. If I decide to keep Whitten (this is the first year we are doing this) I get him with my next available pick (Say my 4th round) then he gets my 5th round as compensation.
Confusing, I know.

I like your second thought....Turner to 9, CJ to 2 and Rodgers at 12. You don't have a first and nobody will steal CJ in the 2nd (they will have to pay way too much). This preserves both Turner and CJ, let's you slide without a 1st and you can get another QB if someone steals Rodgers. Turner and CJ provide a strong young nucleus.
As Brad said, you can get another TE. I like Rodgers a lot this year but there are 10 - 12 starting QB's. So let somebody else pay the price if they want Rodgers. If they don't then your still damn lucky.
Hope that helped....good luck!

I also like this idea, mainly because you are bumping Calvin's draft slot down and you can continue to do that over the next few years. Rodgers and Witten will be drafted in about the same area of most drafts' round 4. If someone wants to steal a player, they would probably want to pay the price for Rodgers over Witten. If I am understanding your system correctly, it seems like even though Rodgers at 12 is a nice deal, if someone wants to steal him around rounds 4-6ish, that would end up benefiting you. JC man, this draft will probably take an entire day just to sort through all the confusion. Good Luck...and I mean that in more ways than one.

I appreciate all the input. I didn't even think of option 2 until I was going to propose the question to you guys. Thanks again for all your help. Turner, CJ and Rodgers is a great start. Here's to another championship!!! ;D

SO Rodgers was stolen from me...BS rule change at the draft... SOOOO not doing this league after this season. ANyways here's what I ended up with...no first round pick (traded away last season) picking from the 4 hole. 6pts all TDs PPR I think I should make it to the playoffs. QBs Palmer (5) I know too early but alot of QBs were already kept Eli Manning (8) RBs Turner - kept in round 9 p. Thomas (3) T Jones (4) Coffee (12) WRs Calvin Johnson - Kept in round 2 TO (3) extra pick for losing Rodgers... Bullshit I say!!! Bryant (6) Avery (7) Chambers (10) Heyward-Bey (last pick) (16) TE Carlson (10) Also from losing Rodgers again BS Shiancoe (11) K Bironas (14) NE (13) I HATE NE

Rodgers for TO and Carlson with Palmer on the roster . . . I would probably do that trade . . . you came out fine . . . though you are a little weak at RB.

Just curious, what was the rule change? You've got good starters, but you'll need PT to stay healthy at RB.

If your Commish suddenly dropped a rule change on draft day, that is total bullshit. If it effected strategies in any way, you should have got up and left if your protest fell on deaf ears. Rules changes should always occur well in advance so all members may prepare accordingly.

The rule change was that you had to have your next pick available. When we voted on the change it was next available pick. I made sure it was this way and they changed it before the draft. They've done it in the past so this is my last season with them.

I'm not sure I understand what happened yet. Meaning you couldn't keep 2 players in back to back rounds?

I'm not sure I understand what happened yet. Meaning you couldn't keep 2 players in back to back rounds? No, I had transitioned Rodgers in the 12th. I had franchised Calvin Johnson in the 2nd. Since the person who wanted to steal Rodgers picks before me in the 2nd round , they said I didn't have a second pick to save rodgers with. I said that the wording was next available pick and not next pick available. We've fought over this so many times before. I asked all summer long that even the commish thought like I did. But once this one guy says no, the commish pussies out and doesn't really fight it. AND it happened to him on the next pick. They have "tweaked" rules at the draft before to fit this guy and I've had enough. So do I bow out now before the season or wait through the season? Thoughts?

Ahhh.. I get it now. I suppose I could have re-read the entire thread and figured it out.
Well, if no money is involved.. then you haven't lost anything. I've never played in a league with the rules you guys use... and I'd prefer not to. My money/keeper league has a fairly unique set of rules but it works for us and keeps the drafts interesting. I don't really like the idea of stealing keeper/transition players... but if you do then it's something that needs to be resolved before the season ends.
I'm sure you've made a bit of a stink about it already, and you have every right to. But I'd make it known that I wouldn't be returning if stuff like this happens again.
