I know a few of you guys have been the commish of a fantasy football league for years. I'm curious to know if any of you have ever busted anyone for collusion before.
I've had a situation in my money league where I've been the acting commish because the two co-commish's are going through a lot of "real life" crap right now. And I just let a fellow co-worker hang himself on the league message board because I've caught him in a lie. I'll be confronting him at work tomorrow, but I've basically busted him for running a 2nd team and trading players between him and the puppet he brought into the league. We draft in person by the way, and we've had the core group of this league together for 8 years. We replaced an owner for the first time this summer. Now I'm about to replace two of them mid-season.
Pretty f'd up. I can't begin to explain how ridiculously dumb this guy is. Or how dumb he must think I am. If you thought FNLOOSE got served... I think I just topped that one. Unbelievable! I might have to find a new money league.

Maybe a better question is: Have you ever reversed a trade two weeks after it went through?

That sucks! Did the trade involve other teams other than just the (2) teams this Douche lick contols? If not then you should reverse them, the only problem there is it may give an "innocent" team a win or loss?
I've had some fucked up things happen in FF, which to me (as a person fully commited to FF, and uses it as a total release) is just ridiculous. Last year in one league the guy who started the league ripped off all the $, and a 2nd league another idiot tried to rip off the $, fortunately P1MP chased the fuck head down, actually drove 3+ hours to the guys house and confronted the guys dad, and had the dad give us the cash his kid tried to rip off...How would you guys appreciate hearing your kid you raised trying to rip off the guys you are playing FF with, what a LOSER!
Moral of the story, you really have to keep these leagues close with guys you know reasonably well, which is a big reason why I pushed hard for the P1MP to jump into this league, following the JIMI debacle....
Good luck Phish, if you guys need impartial people to control the teams you are taking away, I'm sure our "USFL league" can take over until you find new owners?
Just a thought...

I had the guy who was in charge of our leagues money move away and not pay anyone out. I also lost friendships with a couple of guys who I thought were my good friends, because of fantasy football. Was involved in a league where people had to be seperated before they went to blows. We had to kick the guy out of the league mid draft and replace him...that was fun. I do love my some fantasy football!!!

Thanks Bill.
I remember a post on diehards last year about some kid getting confronted about ripping everyone off. Not sure if that was your league or not, but that is pretty messed up.
The situation in our league is this: We replaced an owner for the first time ever. He quit, in part because he got fired by another owner ( his boss, the one who hired him ) so that's fine. We weren't sad to see him go.
But with the draft being done in person, it's hard enough for the existing members to commit to one day at the end of August. And so our resident douche bag ( the guy I've referred to as the Favre homer on diehards in the past ) brought in a guy he works with at his other job. Nobody else knew him. And he wasn't my first choice, but some of the other options couldn't make it from what I know.
Well, Team A ( Favre homer ) has just been busted by trading with Team B ( the guy he brought in ) because I've been given the commissioner access to the site and I can see the trade proposal history. Team A lied to my face the day the trade went through when I questioned him on it, saying there were other players involved initially and that Team B countered the trade and then Team A accepted it.
Truth is: Team A proposed the trade twice on different days, pulled it down/revoked it, once immediately and once the next day, and then proposed the exact same players a 3rd time, Team B rejects the trade within 20 minutes, and then Team B proposes the exact same trade back to Team A. Team A accepts. Like I said, he lied to my face and tonight he lied to everyone on the message board because I got him to talk about it and hang himself. The Favre homer is so dumb that I don't think he realizes that he's been caught. You should see the flurry of posts that went down today.
Worth noting that Team B is the worst team in the league. He hasn't been active at all. And intentionally benched Maclin for A Gonzalez last week. For the SECOND time since A Gonzalez got hurt in week 1. I could go on. He showed up to our draft sans paper, pen, rankings or cheatsheets. Just his Blackberry. First red flag. Was this planned from the beginning? Team A would essentially run both teams?
The trade? Not ridiculous, but you'll see...
Team A sends Brandon Jacobs and Ted Ginn Team B sends Larry Fitzgerald and Beanie Wells
On the surface, not the worst trade ever. Team B's RBs suck. He is coasting his way to having the first overall pick next year in our keeper league by having scored 200 less points than the 2nd worst team. But, we can keep 3 players and at least Team B would have had McCoy and Wells in addition to Fitz as being solid keeper options based on our rules.
What makes the trade shady is that, Team B's RBs suck. And if he kept Brandon Jacobs he would forfeit his 1st overall pick. It's a non-ppr league and most teams keep at 2 RBs. Both Wells and McCoy have better keeper value since it wouldn't make sense to draft Jacobs #1 overall. And that's why Team A traded for Wells... not to mention getting Fitz. In addition to the lies and suspicion that Team A has been running both teams... I think he's been running Team B into the ground if this has been going on for awhile. The owner of Team A is such a schmuck that he'd probably try to make another trade next year for Team B's first pick.
So ya, not pleased. Imagine doing that when you f'n work with some of the guys in the league! Including me!!

Earlier today I told Team A to shut up before " he hurts himself " When I confront him tomorrow, he might hit the ground. Not kidding.

Don't go to jail or anything!
I know in some leagues that a lot of money is involved...but what the hell is the fun of winning if you have to cheat to do so?
The fight that almost happened kind of freaked me out. This league was an exisiting league that I was asked to join. It was a league that the people had no clue what they were doing. I mean, you got points for rushing attempts. Anyway, the fight was over Dorsey Levens. Apparently the guy who was a Packer fan had told his buddy earlier in the day that he was going to draft Dorsey. When his buddy drafted Dorsey in front of him the Packer fan freaked out. He called him a mother f'er and talked about kicking his ass and then kicking his kids ass. The guy was first class all the way! It took 3 guys to get th3 a-hole out of the house. We ended up letting one of the guys who was there 15 year old kid take over the team and not pay an entry fee. We said if he finished in the money we would take out the entry fee and he cold keep the rest...the kid finished second. Needless to say that was the only year I was in that league.

I've already posted about my money league. Changing the rules during the draft. Also I was working but on my way home and they started the draft without me. They said they would wait until 8:30 and started at 8:09. Thought these guys were my friends but they change rules to fit a few guys and I've had enough.
I don't think I'd ever do a money league for more than $20 again.

I joined a league after my sister got married that was run by my sister's husband's brother. We had a semi live draft . . . it was on yahoo and 6 of us were at my sisters house, it was supposedly people from all over the country. I found out when my dad and I joined that they had expanded the league to a lot of family and had turned a 10 team league into a 16 team league. Turns out that the brother had the passwords to his team and the four new ones and was running all five. I caught him in a bastard of a trade about 3 weeks in that turned into a whole family vs. family mess, but I knew I was right even though five teams (including the two that had traded) we are cutting me hard on the boards . . . and all were making the same grammatical errors and spelling mistakes. When 5 different teams continually spell "fair" F-A-R multiple times in all of their messages and people from across the country all post during the same 30 minutes in bursts throughout the day smart people can figure out your BS. I told him in a PM that he needed to STFU and reverse the trade or I would embarrass him in fromt of his family and he backed down and my dad and I still don't play in the league that continues to this day.

Collusion and cheating are retarded. When I joined the money league, which I now run, in 2001, it was my first experience in FF. Throughout the season I would tool around the CBSSports.com site our league was on. In the middle of the season, I found transaction report link and subsequently found the lineup reports. Needless to say, I accidentally discovered the Commish was conveniently changing his lineup during certain player's games. The worst part is this league was composed of my 2 Bro-in-laws, myself and 5 family friends including the Commish. The Commish knew when his friends were out, working, or at Ford Field during the Sunday games, so he would change his lineup during the games against those guys. Even more worse, he makes a 6 figure income and still felt it was necessary to try to rip off his friends. I showed my 2 Bro-in-laws the evidence and they confronted him with the lineup report. The next day the entire transaction report was conveniently erased. Pretty much everyone but myself, decided to retain him in the league because they were all "good" friends and they didn't want a game to destroy their friendship. Myself and 1 of my Bro-in-laws essentially became watchdogs of all his dealings and website changes for the next 3 years. I won the Title that year, but he ended up winning the next 3 Titles in an honest fashion. Their group kept breaking up a bit and I would replace those owners with my friends. In 2005 that Commish got the hint and turned over control of the league to me and he along with the rest of his friends retired after that year. I had to rebuild the league back up from the ground and made it %100 my own. I have friends I can trust and I have full control over the site with pretty much everything done in a democratic fashion. In fact, I wrote our League Constitution covering every detail, including a nice section on website tampering/Commissioner abuse, and revised it over the years as needed. If you want to see how tight my ship is ran check it out at bhhffl.football.cbssports.com/rules. Nothing gets by me.

Wow!! Money leagues, family leagues... it doesn't seem to make a difference does it?
In the meantime, I haven't decked my co-worker yet because I've been waiting to hear from the puppet. I keep getting text messages from him about how he's "busy in class" or whatever.
I'm sure that our resident douche bag is trying to get his story straight with the puppet as we speak. There's no doubt in my mind.

this why i enjoy this leauge, money leauges are nice, but they cause complications way to often.
I use to be in 4 every year, but now just one, we have super hardcore rules, but it makes it easier, its out of everyones hands, we vote on new rules each year or rules we feel fucked to many people over.
we normally dont have a real review process on trades, but when a team is like a week or 2 from being out of the playoff race we review those trades longer then normal.
