Speaking of drunkie, why did he not have a driver, limo, taxi, something? How the hell can a multi-millionaire not have his own driver? And doesn't the NFL offer limo service to bar-hopping players anyways? I have to say I am ashamed that he is a Michigan football player. Moron! |

I actually have Braylon Edwards on one of my teams this year for the first time EVER and I think the beard is 100% responsible for that. As for Braylon's bad judgement, I'll probably catch some flack for this but here goes:
Our society needs to get a grip on the drunk driving issue. I wasn't there, so I have no idea. But if he waited until almost sunrise to drive home and got caught at 0.16... he definitely wasn't pounding Jager bombs until he got in the car. If two guys got in the car with him, I'd expect them to be pretty confident that he was in decent shape. The law allows you to legally drive a vehicle with alcohol in your system. I don't condone drunk driving in any way. If you can't get to your car without wobbling or holding on to something, then find another way home. But when I see people getting jumped on for 0.12 or 0.16... it drives me mental.
It's pretty well known that you could be hammered at 2am, sleep for 8 hours and get in your car at noon and be over the legal limit. And yet, you'd feel fine. Hungover maybe, but not a threat to anyone's safety.
Yes, he had a car service available. And that would have been a better choice... especially in the public eye. But the whole "OMG he was double the legal limit" crap annoys me every time it comes up. Cut yourself off at 0.09 and 0.12 and again at 0.16 and tell me how much of a difference you notice along the way. The dumbest thing Braylon did was agree to a breathalyzer. He was probably within his rights to take a field sobriety test.
