I was wondering if you guys were willing to check my logic in determining the playoff seeding for my league. There is a four way tie with my team and three other teams. We are tied at 7-6 and we own the 3-6 seeds. Four way ties suck and can be a bit confusing, so I just want to make sure I got it right. Here are the tiebreakers between Undertow, Beer Goggles, Punisher, and Alamagoosalum (boogie man something or other):
Undertow v Goose ~ Undertow
Undertow v Punisher ~ Punisher
Undertow v Beer ~ Beer
Goose v Punisher ~ Goose
Goose v Undertow ~ Undertow
Goose v Beer ~ Beer
Beer v Undertow ~ Beer
Beer v Goose ~ Beer
Beer v Punisher ~ Punisher
Punisher v Undertow ~ Punisher
Punisher v Goose ~ Goose
Punisher v Beer ~ Punisher
My logic diagram ended up being something like this (and it's been a really long time since any statistics or critical reasoning classes in college, so this is crude at best):
Punisher<-------Beer<-------Undertow<-------Goose
|_________________________________________^
The arrows point to the team owning the tiebreaker between each two teams. Since these arrows all go in one direction around the four teams, I figure that eliminates all those tiebreaker scenarios.
The two remaining tiebreakers are:
Punisher<-----------Undertow
Beer<----------------Goose
That should make Beer and Pun the top two of these four teams. Pun has tiebreaker over Beer, and Undertow has the tiebreaker over Goose. Therefore, I figure that these teams should be seeded:
3. Punisher
4. Beer
5. Undertow
6. Goose
Does that seem right?
