Here's my 0.02 on this hot topic: 1- We've been doing this since the beginning. I don't see why it would change now. But I digress... 2- It's true, LM didn't sign off on it. We've never been given a reason why, so apparently I'm not the only person who doesn't understand. 3- Both Brad and Chris would have seen this thread before the playoffs started. I can say for absolute certainty that they were on the site after my 2nd or 3rd post. This whole thing could have been avoided had LM said a supplemental pick wasn't up for grabs this time around. 4- Honestly, I don't even care what the final decision is even though the final decision seems to have been made already. It's a 3.13 pick for shits and giggles fer fuck sakes. Even if I would have won, I wouldn't be pissed about the decision. I just don't understand why the decision was a secret until the end.

I saw a passing mention of this before work and baseball season prep snowed me under. If anyone had looked at my profile they would have seen that my last visit was probably Jan. 6 or so . . . whenever it was that I abandoned the roster approval thread so that we are still locked out from transactions.
I enjoyed following this thread along from beginning to end as there were questions asked about whether it was actually for a pick at the beginning and then as LM's continued to not post it was simply assumed that there would be a pick rewarded as in past years. I do not feel comfortable in awarding a pick to a contest in which all teams were not involved. Everyone has to admit that this was hastily put together. I will, however, organize a vote . . . but not on whether a pick can be included this year. That boat has sailed. The vote will be for whether this contest becomes a permanent part of the rules so that everyone knows about it well ahead of time and there can be no excuses one way or the other in the future. Participation will be optional, but everyone will be informed whether they participate or not. This will take care of issues that have arisen this year by LM absenteeism (on my part at least) and take care of the future. Sorry about this year though. I would have won the whole thing just like I won my money league playoff challenge . . . $180 in the pocket! Go Packers!!
Poll to go up shortly.

If in fact the league decides that the "Post Season" challenge be permanently added to the rules (the reward of pick 3.13) to the winner, I would simply ask LM to step back just a minute, breath (digest the fact that a League Majority participated this season with the intent that the winner was to get pick 3.13), and realize that in the history of this league this will be the only season whereas pick 3.13 was not awarded? That to me seems a bit silly, especially given that the pick shouldn't really affect the outcome of the season.
Listening to Brad's argument "that he is uncomfortable awarding a pick as the entire league didn't participate", I say we did this for the past (2) seasons, if you didn't care to join in the party then you should understand that you missed the boat, the precedent for pick 3.13 has been set the past (2) seasons!! Again this isn't a 1st round pick for the love of God, this is pick 3.13??
In short, some of us (not just me Chris) feel very cheated with how this has unraveled, is it really worth it to withhold the selection for this year and create a vibe of ill will in the league, just because some felt it was implied and some felt it wasn't permanently etched in stone and therefore should not be awarded?
Do the right thing LM.....Thanks for listening!

If it would of been posted that a pick was part of the challenge, maybe the other 5 owners would of played. It was not posted,so therefore you can't award one now. Not sure why there would be ill will...

Well... that was fun. But now, I must return to my hibernation. I'll keep an eye out for the poll. In case anyone is worried about me ( Neil ), don't be. I've found another hobby to occupy my time until the combine. I've opened up an online betting account and have been getting back into hockey. Wish me luck.

Not sure why there would be ill will... It was posted by the folks active on the site between the end of the season and the start of the post season, we already went through this, and they didn't participate.....Still don't understand why you never said anything during that time when we all saw you were active on the site, Derek asked the same question and to my knowledge never received an answer from you?? I've said my peace......but PLEASE STOP pretending you don't understand why several of us are pissed about this Chris, nothing worse than that!!

I'm not pretending anything,I guess I just don't understand. When it was asked if it was for a pick, and no LM said it would be,why you would then think it was?

I also don't understand why there was no response from either Commissioner on the subject. I believe there was at least 4 days from the playoff challenge being set up until the first playoff game started, which is plenty of time for LM to see the signup, but that is a moot point now. It really sucks you don't get 3.13 Bill, but it never was agreed upon by LM due to lack of response. Unfortunately you don't have much of an argument this time. With the vote, this shouldn't happen again.
If it helps make you feel better Bill, I'll give you a karma point. ;D

But if I happen to hit a nice parlay for once, I might be in trouble. And Bill... you'll always be a winner in my eyes. If I had the 3.12 pick... I'd let you have it at a very fair price. ;D

Past practices=rule enforced.
However this plays out, there needs to be a ruling, however past practices have said this is an unwritten rule, but has been agreed upon for the last 2 yrs? If there was to be a change then it should have been emphatically stated as there is no reward for that which has been allowed in the past, and not allowed to linger until after it is finished. As for myself I own the very next pick (4.01) and i would have absolutely no problem with Bill recieving the pick right in front of me.
All else fails, Bill ill give ya 4.01 for R.Fitzpatrick who i dropped earlier in the yr ;D.
Not meaning to come off bitter...but after living thru 3 weeks of non stop 20 below weather and wind chills reaching 30-40 below, be patient, ill thaw off soon ;D

There are steps in place to remedy this . . . I just wanted the vote on the rule change to complete itself first.
