A colleague in another league a lot of us are in is trying something new this season, so far I think he has 6-7 guys willing to participate, I think he's trying for 16?
Below is his initial offering:
Anyone heard about this? Everyone drafts a team. No trades or waivers allowed. We could do a draft once a month.....or every other month, starting in March. If I get at least 10 participants, I would be willing to set it up. Starters would be 1 QB, 2 RB, 3 WR, 1 TE, 1 K, 1 D. Our bench would mirror our starting requirement ie. total of 2 QBs, 4 RBs, 6 WRs, etc...., total of 18 players per squad on a team. This actually wouldn't require any time other than the draft. Each week every team is scored using their best possible lineup, with the top scoring team earning "immunity" for the next week. The lowest scoring team is eliminated - unless they have immunity from the previous week. This continues until 4 teams are remaining, at which point immunity is no longer available but the lowest score is still eliminated. Leagues last for 16 or 17 weeks depending on the number of teams, and some weeks are scored as combinations (such as two-week totals of NFL Weeks 15 and 16) to make the number of eliminations work out correctly. Finally, one team is remaining and is crowned the League Champion, otherwise known as the Ultimate Survivor. We could do this for fun, or everyone could kick in something......doesn't really matter to me. We would have to draft by using this message board and the teams would be input later. Any FF website would work. The win/loss records would be meaningless. I would tabulate everybody's score with his.....her best line-up each week. The website is basically for a consistent scoring format. If I haven't confused anyone too much, let me know if anyone is interested. 10-16 participants.
