I just had my keeper league draft Sunday night (kept R Rice in the 6th for my final year owning him, kept L Blount in the 19th, and kept M Wallace in the 5th), and I am getting the trade itch. I really wanted to land T Hightower as one of my favorite sleepers, so naturally he got drafted in the 7th round right before my first pick since the beginning of round 4. The owner of Hightower unwittingly drafted 2 QBs with the same bye week in M Ryan and M Sanchez. I am considering offering P Manning and W McGahee for M Ryan and T Hightower, but I just can't seem to drop the offer. I really like M Ryan, but P Manning is the perfect picture of top 5 QB consistency. If the Falcons run well with Turner and Snelling, Ryan won't have to pass much and ends up having some down weeks. The Colts running game hasn't changed either, outside the addition of D Carter, which means lots of passing. Should I offer? Am I overthinking? Should I offer Daniel Thomas in place of McGahee if he rejects? Am I the only one this excited for the football season ? Standard scoring, no PPR P Manning J Cutler R Rice L Blount M Ingram D Thomas W McGahee B Tate M Hardesty M Wallace L Fitzgerald V Jackson M Sims-Walker J Knox S Breaston J Graham G Olsen G Hartley Chargers D

I wouldn't do the trade. then I looked again. I would offer the trade. I think it is even so the owner would do the trade.

I would do the trade, but I am as low as anyone is on Manning this year. You also need another RB to get carries . . . I am not sure how many carries your young guys and McGahee are going to get this year. Yes, I would also offer D. Thomas if he rejects. Thomas has not looked very good at all in the looks I have had at him. Timid and scared is the impression I get.

I wasn't crazy about drafting Manning, even as good as he is, because I always like to draft the value QBs later. However, after getting Fitz and V Jax at 1.09 and 2.02, I wasn't going WR in the third. The RBs were picked pretty clean and M Ingram was the only one worth drafting within the next 3 rounds. I waited to draft him at 4.02 as a fourth round keeper option, which left Manning as my best available in round 3. My only concern about Manning is that he didn't get any preseason reps and may start the season rusty.
I made the offer, and I feel the same way about dropping Thomas in McGahee's place if necessary. I was never crazy about him all the way back to when I scouted him for our rookie draft. He was just BPA in round 8 of my draft.

I agree with you Brad,I'm not high on Manning either. Plus,I think the Falcons are going to throw the ball more this year. Hell,Ryan threw 42 passed in the third pre-season game....IN THE FIRST HALF!

The Falcons traded up to get Julio Jones to pair with Roddy and Gonzo....Turners 300 touches per yr are over, and I believe the Falcons will open up the passing game more than ever. Hightower is the man in Washington now, but that could change by the time I am done typing. Do the trade. If Hightower beast out this year then you will come out ahead. If he doesnt then he will still be better than Mcgahee and Thomas. I would offer McGahee first then Thomas if he doesnt take the first offer.

I would actually offer Manning and Thomas. Thomas has looked dreadful and is more highly valued than Magahee right now, and I think Magahee could get some real playing time because K. Moreno is a big pussy!
T. Hightower will be a beast this year and I bet M. Ryan and P. Manning have about the same stats.
Good luck James!

Turned down the offer with McGahee, saying he didn't want to trade 2 starters for 1. I guess he is not as high on McGahee as I am, running behind what is turning out to be a perennial bust in Moreno. Manning/Thomas is in. Thomas holds a lot more trade strength, being a keeper league.

Thanks for the help guys. He just accepting Manning and Thomas for Ryan and Hightower. I was just able to trade away 2 out of 4 players from my team that had the most question marks and that I had no plans to draft, just ended up taking BPA in their 3rd round and 8th round slots. My team is a bit better before the season even starts. Love it.
