Correct me if im wrong, but the playoffs should look like this....?? 1. Swagger 2. M357's 3. Mudslingers 4. Phish 5. Hellfire 6. Force
The 3 way tie between Swamp, Hellfire and Force had to go to pts scored as Hellfire beat Swamp, Swamp beat Force, and Force beat Hellfire.Hellfire- 2059.7 pts Force- 2012.0 pts Swamp- 1812.9 Week 1 of playoffs would be..? Force vs Mud Hellfire vs Phish M357;s and Swagger would have byes. Again, this is just me looking things over quickly, LM will have to verify. I just wanted something to do

For tie breaker purposes we have to go Overall record, H2H (all teams in the tie), Total Points, Coin Flip
The Playoffs break down like this: Payton Champ and #1 seed (Bye) - South Beach Swagger Sanders Champ and #2 seed (Bye) - Minnesota M357's Brown Champ and #3 seed - Windsor Mudslingers Wild Card and #4 seed - Halifax Phish Brigade
For the last two spots, three teams are tied at 7-6, Fog City Force, Texas Hellfire and Jersey Swamp Dragons.
The results of their H2H games were - JSD 2-1; FCF 1-1; Hellfire 1-2
Thus, the Hellfire miss the playoffs . . . the Swamp Dragons are the #5 seed and will play the Phish Brigade and the Force are the #6 seed and will play the Mudslingers.

Wow! The Hellfire is out, the Force at #6 and the Mudslingers at THREE! Whoda thunkit.
It's times like this where I wonder why total points isn't the first tiebreaker.

I'm not understanding the validity of that W-L deal for the 3-way tie. Tiebreakers are H2H...each team v each team. Hellfire/Swamp (1-1) should go to most points meaning Hellfire holds the tiebreaker over Swamp.

I beat Fog H2H and I split with Hellfire. Why wouldn't I get in? Isn't that how the NFL does it? If head 2 head is first I would be in. If points are that important then why have divisions and head to head games?

Divisions are more important for scheduling than anything. Points are a true measure of how good your team really is (or coaching strategy). Those points aside, H2H makes it a me v you, not me v the league, and tiebreakers should be between each team v each opponent, imo.

I noticed this is how LM has done it in the past and Swamp would make it under this scenario. Ive always felt that H2H should only be taken into account when there is only 2 teams involved. Not saying the way Brad has done it here is wrong by any means. Most of my lgs have gone to pts when it involves more than 2 teams having same record. Total pts is a better sign of how good a team is and deserving of a playoff spot.
Likely something that can be discussed in the offseason, but as it stands now, welcome to the dance Swampie!!!

Perhaps this is something we should consider adjusting this off-season, as I also support the total points approach as well!

If we play h2h then that is what should decide a playoff spot. If points are so important, then why do games each week? Or change it to an all points league. Isn't this a situation that is like how a NFL team BACKS into the play-offs? We can vote in the off season but we can discuss it now while this situation is fresh in everyone's mind. I would be against Force making the playoffs since I beat him head to head. Isn't that why we play the games.

H2H should always be the first tiebreaker, with total points the second. I don't think anyone is calling for a points league, but if H2H is tied, points should be the second tiebreaker. With 3 tied records, that can still be figured out logically with H2H against each team, and when A>B>C>A, I would like it to go straight to points. With 4 or more tied records, logic can get muddled up (dealt with that last year in my league) and I think points should automatically be the deciding factor (the resulting rule in my league for this year forward).
Nothing against you Peter, of course, and my opinion is not swayed by how high your first round pick is (which I own).

I don't think I have owned my own 1st rounder in years.
