This gonna be a little long, but here goes... and for anyone on the Fleaflicker site for the other league... skip this if you've already replied over there.
So, earlier this year in my money league I mentioned that one of the owners ( who I considered to be a good friend ) said that he was bailing on this season. I laid some smack on the boards ( who me? { looks around with an innocent look } )because he was acting like a retard at the draft and he took it personally... or so he says.
Skip forward, he changes his team name to "vacant" and puts up a post to say that the only thing he will be doing going forward is setting his roster until we can find a new owner. After the TWENTY round draft ( in person ), waivers begin, and everyone who wasn't drafted can be picked up in priority order. Long story short, he didn't submit any requests and has had a 20 man roster ever since.
I played against him last week and on Saturday ( 24 hours before kickoff ) I noticed his kicker was on his bench and he hadn't logged into the site for over a week. Long story short again ( I contacted him and put up a post to advise the league )... he submitted his lineup, without replacing a bye week IDP player. This isn't uncommon, as most of us has waited to replace a DL until after the afternoon games. If it's close, you make a move. If not, you don't and save the FA pickup since there's a limit. Anyway, I beat him. I'm the top scorer in that league as well and put up the 2nd most points that week. He put up the 5th most or something. His team isn't horrible by the way. But Laverneus Coles and his 3 TD's certainly helped.
But NOW!!! He has accepted a trade. Another owner ( apparently a better friend of his ) has some bye week issues this week and is playing against me, the top scorer. He puts up a trade bait on the boards asking for help via trade so he can " beat me ", and the next day a trade is accepted involving the guy who isn't really playing.
The trade? Team Vacant sends Ryan Grant and VJax to the owner who is playing in exchange for Chris Perry and Ocho Stinko.
My thoughts are: the trade isn't horribly uneven. But to get two players from Cincy at this point in the game in exchange for two players who are playing on a far better team right now doesn't sit well with me because of all the stuff that led up to this.
Thoughts? There's even more to the story, but you get the picture...
