Hixon is currently the best WR on the Giants roster, which certainly means that position will be addressed w/ either Braylon or a big WR in the draft (looking squarly at Nicks or Britt). Manningham will eventually become the 2nd WR (probably in 2010) and Smith will stay in the slot.
Gregg, I would think you remembered what happened to the Giants after they lost Plax last year. Eli needs a big, tall, playmaking receiver w/ great hands so his errant throws will still be caught, and the defense loosens up a bit for the running game and the other WRs. Neither of Manningham or Smith will fit that role and Hixon is not a playmaker.
