Addai is now that much less fantasy relevant.....Bummer seemed like he was a stud 2 years ago....

I think Addai will be fine. Remember this was a need pick for the Colts because Rhodes is gone now. Addai will be the number for the next 2 years at least. After that? It will depend on what the respective RBs do.

I don't buy that. The Colts did not spend their first round pick for a player to "fill in". Their were too good players at need positions like the O-line, D-line, and LB's. They have lost faith in Addai---it's that simple. There's no two ways about it.

I can understand if Addai will start and they will split carries, but a team that needs defensive tackles and back 7 as badly as the Colts doesn't go backup halfback in the 1st round of a draft in which other teams aren't looking for running backs. I don't know that it symbolizes the end for Addai, but it definitely symbolizes at least a 2 back system.

either way, his fantasy value takes a big hit, which sucks donkey nuts because I traded Gore last year for Addai and Brees, which I thought was a no brainer, now maybe not as sweet as I thought?

You all are disregarding the economics . . . Addai is in the final year of his contract (I Think) and the Colts had no one to provide leverage on their side of any negotiations. Addai has had some injury concerns sure, but I don't understand why you all believe that his fantasy value is any lower than it was last year when he shared with Rhodes. It's higher because of the bust possibility of Brown. Felix Jones didn't hurt MBIII's value, Stewart actually IMPROVED DWill's value, Mendenhall will probably hurt FWP's value when he is healthy, but FWP has been increasingly marginal as far as TD's goes anyhow. So I don't really see the logic.

The fact is that Addai can't stay healthy. Brown is brought in to share carries, not spell Addai. Indy is officially a 2 back system, and Addai should stay healthier as a result. I say his current value stays the same as a mid RB2.
Furthermore, Indy's defense will dictate how their offense will run. Manning has made it clear that he wants more running. If Indy's defense can lower their points against, Brown and Addai will tear it up like Stewart and D Will did this last year.
