My kicker, Shayne Graham, has had a FG and an XP blocked by fat-ass Shaun Rogers. Because of those blocks, Graham was docked 2 points. Our rules state specifically that missed kicks get -1 point each. It does not mention blocked kicks. The rule is also stated in the ESPN settings as a missed kick, not blocked kick. I feel it is unfair that blocked kicks should be counted against the kicker when he had nothing to do with the ball not making it through the uprights in those situations. I would like to appeal the fact that my kicker is getting docked 2 points unfairly, and I should have the 2 points returned back to my team score. I would like some opinions/agreement from the other league members here, except Crush because I am playing him in this matchup. While I am at it, I also don't agree with missed kicks getting counted as negative points, unless they are w/in like 30 yards or something. This is something that should be addressed for next year

James, you won't like my answer, which is I never want to get into the habbit of trying to over rule the site we play on, then it turns into a real tough job policing each week.
IMO, part of the kicker is the special teams in which they play, if the blocking sucks, that needs to be factored in.....
sorry....

You probably won't like my answer either. If the ball doesn't go through the uprights, should the kicker be awarded any points? Sometimes a blocked kick can be the kickers fault. He could be slow off the snap, he could kick it low, he could bury the ball into the snappers a$$hole. A blocked kick doesn't have to be the direct result of a super human play.
I can't think of any league that I've been in where a short range kick that didn't go through the uprights wasn't penalized as a miss. In my money league, any miss under 40 yards falls under the same negative scoring.
But look on the bright side James. Your studs are all passed their bye week so you'll be at full strength the rest of the way. At least you didn't put up over 160 points for the first time ever and still lost!
I will now hijack this topic and proclaim DMC to be available for a fair price.

To think I could have started any of: Sammy Morris, Lynch or Garrett Wolfe instead of DMC and won is disgusting.

It does not say how it was missed (blocked, poor accuracy, bad snap, kicker pulled their labia, etc.)

Sorry to derail the debate. I guess the way I look at it, if the ball doesn't go through the uprights it's a miss. Since the average football player can only jump so high, it's the kickers job to get the ball up high enough.

That's something to be considered when playing against the Brows....in fact, its one of the only things to worry about. ;D

Furthermore... ;D I think since you've asked for a correction when you still have a chance to win, the fantasy gods will make sure you lose by 1 point. LOL

We can look into this for next year. A missed kick is still one that leaves the foot and does not go through the uprights . . . it's just the rules. I am good with a rule change next year that misses are docked only if they are less than 35 yards. Any point try that leaves a foot and does not score is counted as a miss . . . no matter how it doesn't make it through the uprights. Contact with the foot must be made.

He could be slow off the snap, he could kick it low, he could bury the ball into the snappers a$$hole. A blocked kick doesn't have to be the direct result of a super human play. By this reasoning, a QB should be penalized for being sacked, even though it is the fault of the O-line 9 out of 10 times, and we all know that is retarded. I would certainly liked this to be addressed for next year, and I think negative points for kickers should be scrapped altogether. It already sucks enough to have to deal with kickers, I don't want to lose a game because a stupid kicker is getting negative points. If anything, they shouldn't be penalized for blocked kicks. And if it makes you feel any better FCF, I started DMC over R Rice in my league, and I currently need AD to get 7 more points than R Grant in the 2nd half. Who knew Cable and Co. would be so completely retarded enough to only give DMC 6 carries against the worst run D in the NFL. At least I was smart enough to start Sims-Walker over Bowe.

I have no problem with kickers getting a negative point for a missed kick, regardless of the distance.

I just saw the report that DMC had a torn meniscus in the game and will miss 2-4 weeks. That would explain his lack of touches, but it doesn't keep his injury label from becoming larger.
