Just wondering if someone plans on setting up the USFL again this year as a group to compete w/each other in the nfl.com's Post season tourney?
If memory serves James set us up last year?
I'm in if we do!
THANKS!
Bill

If someone hasn't set up a league on NFL.com yet... I'll do it. I've been meaning to create a team anyway
Mike, have a look at the rules for the playoff challenge leagues on NFL.com... you can win a trip to the Superbowl
Keep in mind, you're playing against a million other people for the trip though. But we can create a league. Wasn't there a supplemental draft pick that went to the winner last year?

I'm setting up the league right now. The rules have changed a little bit, doesn't look like it's a salary cap league now. From what I can see, you can pick anybody but the idea is still to pick players from teams that will advance in the playoffs.

That was a pain in the ass! You have to send the invite individually... that blows. Shame on NFL.com
Anyhoo... I also bumped the thread from last year. Sadly, it was John who suggested we do something in the post season. But it was my idea to use the NFL.com site... so I'll take some credit for that.
I went ahead and sent out invites without waiting to hear from Brad or Chris. I'd imagine they would both be on board though.
Have a look in the other thread I bumped from last year for some history.
The password should be in the email.
The league name is: USFL The password is: usfl2009
I forgot, it's 2010 now. Surprised I didn't write down 2009 at work today! LOL

Just to highlight the rules for those that haven't played in these NFL.com playoff leagues before...
You pick 1 QB, 2 RBs, 2 WRs, 1 TE, 1 K and 1 Team Defense
The scoring is very basic, no PPR
In previous years, it was a salary cap league with a $300.00 budget. But you were only allowed to make 2-4 moves after each round of the playoffs, so it was important to pick players that you thought would move on. Especially after Wildcard weekend, because then you were limited to only 2 changes.
But this year, it looks like there is no cap and you can change all of your players from week to week. But, you get extra points by keeping the same player because you'll get 2x or 3x or even 4x the points as each round of the NFL playoffs moves forward. Pretty interesting.

Oh, one last thing. Last year, the supplemental draft pick was a 3.13 pick. I don't know if Gregg won the pick of if he acquired it via trade, but Johnny Knox was selected with that pick last year. Not bad for a supplemental pick.
Mike Wallace and Arian Foster were the next two draft picks made... pretty good talent there too.
It's worth playing for. Plus, it's fun. Plus you could, in theory, win a trip to the Superbowl.
We'll need confirmation from everyone before the supplemental pick is up for grabs. Especially Brad and Chris. But hopefully everyone has an NFL.com account, it's not hard to register. And at this point in the football season, hopefully everyone can commit to the little bit of time it takes to play.

No problem.
Oh, one last thing again...
I only sent an invite to Nino (Ryan) and M357's ( Rob ) because if there is a supplemental pick on the line, and I hope there is... then only one team can be submitted from the co-owned teams.
Last year we only sent an email to Ryan for the Wildcats, so I'll let you guys figure out what happens. In the event that a supplemental pick is not on the line, I'll send out more invites.

Thanks for getting it done Phish. I think that pick 3.13 can be the prize again.

I know Canadians are usually behind a bit. ;D I'll be in, thanx for setting it up Phish. I already have a group set up on CBSSports.com for my money league and we are all throwing in $20, winner take all. Let the fantasy madness continue!
