I just joined a keeper league in which I am taking over a team. I can acquire either Steven Jackson or Jamaal Charles. The rules are almost the same as ours. Which RB would you rather have in a dynasty league?

I just joined a keeper league in which I am taking over a team. I can acquire either Steven Jackson or Jamaal Charles. The rules are almost the same as ours. Which RB would you rather have in a dynasty league? On the surface this seems like a ridiculous question, but this is a real dilema. I actually would rather have J. Charles and I'll explain why. KC is only going to get better on offense. Improving O-line, improving young QB going into the second year of Haley's offense, and Bowe should pull his head out of his ass. Further, I've seen a lot of mocks with the Chiefs taking Dez Bryant who has TO like skills. This all bodes well for J. Charles who is only 23 and is a little undervalued right now. As much as I like SJAX, the Rams are getting worse not better. They have no QB, no veteran WR, no TE and their line sucks. It seems miracolous that SJAX put up the numbers he did this year. Further, the guy is perenially hurt for at least 1-2 games per year. He's 27 and the Rams will not improve. This leaves the following: Do you want to have a 27 year old beast in SJAX who has 2-3 years left of elite play or do you want J. Charles who probably has 6 -7 years of very strong to potentially elite play in him? So Chris...is your team built to win now or does it have some work to go? If its built to win now, I could be convinced to take SJAX. If not then Charles is the easy choice IMO. Keep us posted and good luck!

If it were me I'd also go with youth and keep J. Charles, your WR's DJAX and Saqntonio are also young, go with a 2-3 year plan and try to aquire good younf talent!

Gregg???......Did you access Bill's account and post this reply??? ;D I would still like S Jax over Charles. Taking Charles would be a gamble, even though it might pay off. I would make it a safe bet that Charles will have company in the backfield with him soon. He will not be a perennial workhorse RB like Jackson. The Chiefs will eventually put him in a committee, maybe this year, maybe next. Basically expect Charles to average RB2 numbers, at best, over the next 6-7 years or so while Jackson will give you RB1 numbers, but only for 3-4 years.
