I can't wait till Thursday ,even though my Bears don't pick till the third round...  With so many trades happening the past few weeks,what trades do you see coming in the draft? Will Marshawn get dealt,and where would he go? Bears are still shopping Greg Olson,but want a 2nd round pick for him,which they won't get! On a side note,did any of you guys see the ESPN special with Gruden and the college QB's? It was a great show....Gruden is the man! |

I only saw the segment with Colt McCoy, which I have to be honest, I thought that was a bit much....
Yes, Marshawn Lynch will be a Charger before the Draft is over....

You see Gruden drop the Ryan Leaf reference to Jimmy Clausen, talking about just going through the motions? That was awesome, especially since Clausen didn't know how to react for that split second. Clausen is a complete douchebag and is destined to fail.
As for the draft, I'll be working during the first 3 rounds on the first 2 days. That's fuckin stupid.

Record it and don't listen to sports talk on the way home from work....oh yeah, and stay off these sites until you watch it. That could actually work nicely, as you can FF past a lot of the insignificant crap...

Unfortunately, I haven't invested in a DVR yet, and I don't know if my old VCR is reliable to set a recording time. Anyways, I work with a few football nutjobs like myself, so I will be getting regular updates. My boss will probably have the computer in the office on the draft site (or a hockey scoreboard if there are games), one of my co-workers sets his phone to be updated on the picks, and I may be able to sneak out to the front bar where there are 4 TVs. All that needs to happen is for the restaurant to have very little business. If we get busy, throw all that shit out the window.
One of the main reasons I like to watch the draft is to see all the trades as they happen and to see the highlights and further analysis of all the players picked, especially in the mid-late rounds with players I haven't scouted very much.

I hope the giants get mcclain, but i have a feeling the broncos will draft him at 11, hopefully the giants don't draft witherspoon at pick 15. If they are going to take him i would love to see the giants trade down to twenty and pick up a third or a 4th then take witherspoon then he is not a top 15 talent. I was not expecting the Gruden segements to be enoyable, however they were highly enjoyable especially the clausen segment!!!!!!!

not sure if the Bears will be able to trade up to round 2. Trading there second round pick for Gaines Adams didn't help the Bears much. It was a bad trade when it happened,it is even worse now.

Philly sends 5th rounder to Denver, which sends Scheffler and 7th to Detroit, which sends Ernie Sims to Eagles.
Lions are getting better?

Here is my take on that bullshit trade that I just left on the Diehards site: The Lions were doing very well in the offseason...until this move. I understand the need to insure Pettigrew, but to trade away Sims, who may have been their most talented (if not 2nd) young LB. Sure he struggled over the last couple of years, but a big chunk of that blame can be laid directly on the Lions embarrassing D-line getting shoved around. I understand the injuries did not help his cause, but how well did any of the other LBs do last year behind that D-line?
As much as I am a fan of my fellow Western Michigan alum, Scheffler, this trade is a joke for the Lions. They just traded away a starter at a position where there is no replacement, and pick up an insurance player at a position they didn't need to fill. They just added another big need for the draft.
For now, this move leads me to believe that they have another trade up their sleeve for an OLB (signing FA LB Keith Bulluck is a temporary option), or to fill one of their other major needs like DT (Haynesworth talks have been swirling...  ), RB, or CB. At least Mayhew has been doing his damned best to separate the Lions from the Millen era, but this move is almost Millen-esque.

Draft day is here!!!!!!!!!!
Usually the NFL draft falls on days that im off work anyways, and i always use vacation during big events on the NFL calendar, however i wasted all my vacation except for 1 day this year, and in the spirit of keeping things interesting at work i asked to use today as my last vacation day (til July).
My usual excuses for taking a day off in the past have been for shits n giggles, but everyone expects me to come up with some off the wall claims for why i need the day off (not that i need a reason). Ive stuck with one reason for quite some time now, and that was....Im a guest speaker at my church (which i do to annoy the crap out of our company reverand).
This time, I used.... Its half price beer and half price lap dances at our local strip club, our party bus leaves at noon and will be gone til 1am. It went over well with my supervisors!!!! Now get to take in the full draft this weekend!!!! (yay me) lol
