Better sell quick..........
According to FoxSports.com, despite Brett Favre's request to be released from the Green Bay Packers, the organization has "no intention of granting that request," FOXSports.com has learned. Sources suggest that the team is prepared to allow Favre to return as Aaron Rodgers' back-up.
A back up roll isn't going to net you much big guy........

No thanks. I have been offered a third by 3 other teams. One team offered a third and a fourth. I thought you said your asking price was a third? I offered you a third. You said, "No". What exactly is your asking price???

Now the Packers are saying there's no way they'll let him go to Minnesota so that's out of the question. Baltimore might be the closest thing to a contender that Favre can play for.
Either way, Favre is screwed. He's going to get injured because he's on the cover of Madden 09!

It now appears the Pack is suggesting if he comes back he'll be the back up to Aaron Rogers, which means he'll have to just stay on his tractor in Mississippi.....Chris handled Favre much like I handled my stock portfolio in the year 2000, should have sold big guy!

I should of sold, for what? Not sure what a third round pick is going to get me next year in a league where we keep 30 guys. Ya think the Pack are going to have Favre sit behind Aaron Rodgers.......cause that won't distraction to the team! Don't be mad Fog boy just because I rejected your trade offer.

I highly doubt that the Packers are really willing to keep Favre on the bench. I think the idea is to get across to old Brett that he can't just do whatever he wants and have no reprucussions. It's easy to retire and then just unretire when you know you'll be going back into the same situation but an organization needs to know what the hell is going on so it knows how to approach its offseason. Especially a team like that which finished second in the NFC last year and ended up drafting a quarterback in the 2nd round because it needed a backup. If Favre had said something, they can go and grab another need position and fill in. It's been a question of that fruitcake's retirement for the past 3 seasons now. He gets on TV and starts sobbing and saying that he loves the game and he'll miss it etc.... Bullshit! I know I have a biased opinion but I wouldn't be shocked if he was just doing it to pad the record books. Either get your ass to the golf course and enjoy your family or shut up and stop crying every winter about how you'll miss the game and put your helmet on.

Either get your ass to the golf course and enjoy your family or shut up and stop crying every winter about how you'll miss the game and put your helmet on. Bingo! Favre needs to shit or get off the pot. He is a "football guy" in the purest definition of the term. The fact that he said he had the itch to play again once July rolled around, simply means he loves football. He will have the itch when he is 70 years old! Is he going to retire and unretire up to that point? I have always loved Favre, and he is undoubtedly 1 of the 3 greatest QBs all time, but he is being fuckin selfish w/ this crap. The person who is getting completely screwed w/ is Aaron Rodgers. This is the 2nd year in a row that Favre is fuckin w/ Rodgers career. "Here you go Aaron, the team is yours..........wait, just kidding, ha-ha-ha!" To be honest, I was more surprised he retired after this last season, than I was the season before. He took a very young team to the NFC Championship, and I would think they could only improve this year w/ Favre. I thought he would stay 1 more year to take a shot at a SB.

I think the Renegades may have held on for too long too . . . and the price kept going up . . . I don't think Favre will start in GB this year . . . and that's the only reason I wanted him . . . Rodgers and Brohm are a big part of my QB'ing game . . . so if Favre was gonna disrupt that . . . I wanted him. And I was willing to pay a price, but since it had continued to rise . . . I think I'm out of the Favre business . . . of course if Chris wants one of the offers I sent already . . . I'll reconsider . . . but a third rounder for being the fastest to the computer on an undrafted FA . . . that's pretty good IMO.

If he plays great,if he doesn't thats fine too. A third round pick is going to get me someone who was drafted in the seventh round of the NFL draft....oh boy. If he doesn't play then all I am out is Justin Forsett, who is still available. I think the reward he could bring is better then a third round pick. I am not worried about it one way or the other. ;D

If you look at the order that we picked rookies this year, then the 3rd round of rookies begins after the Early Doucet pick. That means that if we were to have a rookie only draft, the first pick of the 3rd round would be Malcolm Kelly and the last would have been Dennis Dixon. Which makes an interesting statement cause I would rather take the chance on Favre than Dennis Dixon. But I would rather have Malcolm Kelly over Brett Favre. Depends on the 3rd rounder I guess...........

Unless the 3rd rounder belongs to the Dragons, which is then basically a late 2nd rounder....now that is interesting....
