I read the rules and it looks like it was just addressing not trading future draft picks before the conclusion of our initial league draft in 2008, not every year's draft. There should certainly not be stipulations about trading future picks now. That would make no sense.

There should certainly not be stipulations about trading future picks now. That would make no sense. Draft Picks: Individual draft picks in the initial 2008 league draft may not be traded. However, your ENTIRE draft may be traded for someone else's if both of your first round picks have not yet been made. Future draft picks may not be traded until the draft immediately preceding the draft which contains the picks to be traded has been completed. That is, 2009 draft picks may not be traded until the 2008 draft is completed.i think you heard what you wanted to

so what is to stop me from trading 2015 picks Nothing should, but why would anyone want to trade picks from so far in the future? You wouldn't know what part of the round that pick would fall, and I don't think anyone could wait 7 years to cash in. The 2010 picks are just over a year away. We are currently in the 2009 season, which makes the 2010 season the next season.

NFL teams can trade future picks.
I will wait for further clarification from one of the Commissioners.

haha ok you guys try to figure out the rules that are stated clearly lol and no thats my point if i can trade them i can offer first rounders from 2015-2030 for AP and whatever other fantasy god i can find, rules are in place to avoid it being streatched to where its being taken advantage of and in my opinon this puts the foot in the door to streatch this rule to craziness

As a good rule of thumb I think we should follow is:
A future years draft picks cannot be traded until the draft COMMENCES for the year preceeding the year of the pick in question....
TRANSLATION: 2010 draft choices can be traded as soon as the 2009 Draft commences (Not concludes, but commences)
I think that rule will stop silly trading of 2015 draft choices etc.....
Sound reasonable?
This doesn't, IMO derail the trade between Detroit and Swampie, just postpones it a bit? Let's face it, if they both feel strongly about it they will figure a way to beat the system, I just think the system should prevent the future years draft choices. The reason being, someone could really get things messed up, then walk away, making it real difficult to clean up the mess if draft choices for the next several years are involved?
Just my thought.....

ok well then i am going to be an annoyed state lol cause i hae passed up lots of 2010 trades based upon rules, that are to late to go back on cause i made other trades, and yes the 2015 example is silly. IF you want to change the rules it should be inserted for next year not a year that is at its end stages and getting ready for the second year
